As part of my "journey" to better health, I am trying to find new (low-impact) ways to exercise. Having been a competitive athlete for years, I don't really know how to ease into things slowly. My first instinct is to jump right in, set big goals, and push through pain to reach them. As I have completely fallen off the workout wagon though, I need to make sure that I get back onto it carefully. My muscles (can I still call them that?) need some time to regenerate before I dust off my sneakers.
Having done yoga for years as cross-training, I decided that it is the perfect thing for me to do now as a workout. My goal is to start slowly and build my workouts gradually, so that I am more likely to stick to my workout schedule. As I am limited however by the cost of classes, a friend recommended that I try "Yoga by Adriene" on Youtube!
